This process is quite long and obviously produces results of poorer quality than the voice you hear in Portal; do not expect Portal perfection. How is the voice generated? There are various tutorials around the web on how to do this. Here is such a tutorial as a YouTube video : The problem is that this method makes use of GUI graphical user interface software, which cannot be easily automated. What this tool does is, indeed, to automate them anyway, despite the shortcomings of such a method.
Here is what happens when you enter a message in the form above: The message gets queued in a database. The queue is processed at regular interval through a script ran with a cron job.
The server is running Linux, so it has to run a Windows virtual machine, and launch Melodyne inside the VM. A Python script takes care of opening the file in Melodyne and to apply the method described in the tutorial, using shortcut keys when possible, or by taking screenshots to determine where to click on screen when there is no shortcut key to perform a certain action.Mappa e cartina stradale di montefiascone b, monreale, palermo

From lights to my computer. In this tutorial i will explain the basics of the control system. This is expandedable by repeating the steps. I use 2 arduino's in this situation. I'm still learning to code and this was a major step up for me.
I'm investigating how i can put all this work on one simple rasberry pi. It is officialy used for voice control in games. This software enables you to attach programs or keystrokes to certain voice commands. I used it in a way that a certain voice commands opens a python script wich will send a serial code to the arduino1.
The arduino1 will make a certain output HIGH that wil be send to arduino 2. This arduino1 is neccesary because the arduino resetted itself after every update from the serial data it received. I have not found a way to fix it yet but i'm looking into it. Without your'e help i woudnt have made it. The project stands now still for a while becaue is have an intership with school but when i have the time to work furter on it i will.
If you want to stay up to date on the glados project subscribe on my youtube channel my name is douwe miedema on youtube. When i have something to show you guys i will upload it there. Type in the text box what you would like her to react to as a voice command.
I do that because i wont get tired of always hearing the same answers. The official texst to speech site doesnt exist anymore so i use another one of oddcast the voice of samantha. Now you created you first command you can try it if you want. You did now only acivate the first light. This is the arduino that gets serial data from the computer remember this arduino needs to stay plugged in the computer for serial data to work!
You need to put this in the python script remember to change the com port to the one the arduino is connected with. Reply 2 years ago. Reply 2 months ago. Question 1 year ago. Answer 1 year ago. GLADOS Home Automation (voice Recognition)
Siri may have a lot of brains behind its technology, but it lacks the hopelessly sardonic demeanor that people like Corey Thomas enjoy — he's created GLaDOS, a personal assistant inspired by the menacing AI from Portalwhich responds to voice recognition using the Kinect. GLaDOS can recognize its own name, open and close programs, and offer plenty of biting insults. The program responds pretty quickly to commands, which you can see for yourself in the video below.

Loading comments Share this story Twitter Facebook.Caroline is an unseen character in Portal 2. Caroline's voice can be heard only briefly in pre-recorded messages during the game, and mostly the phrase 'Yes sir, Mr. Johnson,' with the exception of bringing her boss back to the point interjecting 'Black Mesa can eat my bankrupt When Cave became terminally ill in the late s, one of his dying wishes was to leave her in charge of Aperture in his place.
Caroline was Johnson's personal assistant and closest confidante from the early years of Aperture Science until his apparent death in the s. After realizing that he was terminally ill, Cave attempted to cheat death by ordering Aperture's scientists to develop a computer network into which his consciousness could be uploaded.
However, he decreed that should he die before the project was ready, Caroline would take over the company in his place.Bose redline cube speakers specs
Johnson cautioned that Caroline would likely have to be forced into the role, as he predicted she would otherwise refuse out of modesty. He also suggested that she should be uploaded to the computer network in his place, making her effectively immortal. The exact details of what transpired are unclear, but at some point, Caroline's mind was transferred to the AI network that was meant to become the Enrichment Center's Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System.
Upon activation, the AI proved to be unstable and extremely dangerous, trying to kill the scientists within "one-tenth of a picosecond" every time she was activated. Caroline has never appeared in person, but her voice can be heard through audio recordings in some test chambers located in the oldest parts of the Enrichment Center. In the recordings, CEO Cave Johnson also mentions Caroline a number of times, referencing her repeatedly in conversation.
GLaDOS, who has been disconnected from her mainframe at this point and is exploring these parts of the facility with Chellreacts strongly to hearing Caroline's voice. She is at first unable to remember how she knew Caroline, eventually lapsing into shocked silence for a time as she comes to remember her origins.
At this point, Caroline's memories and personality gradually begin to re-emerge, described by GLaDOS as a sort of conscience. Shortly after regaining control of the facility from WheatleyGLaDOS thanks Chell for helping her rediscover human emotions - and the location in her network of the source of those emotions: Caroline's personality segment.
GLaDOS claims to have summarily deleted what remains of Caroline; afterwards, she displays a marked shift in mood, apparently reverting to her prior conscience-free state. Despite this, however, GLaDOS ultimately decides to grant Chell her freedom without harming her - although she claims this is merely because her attempts to kill Chell have been so troublesome.
In the game's ending song, " Want You Gone ", she expresses mixed feelings about Chell's departure and at one point sings the line, "now little Caroline is in here too", raising the possibility that she may have lied about deleting Caroline.
During the cooperative campaign, which takes place after the single-player game, GLaDOS shows little sign of conscience. She does not hesitate to destroy sentient robots, actively encourages them to betray one another, and speaks disparagingly of humans throughout. Near the end of the campaign, however, she begins showing noticeable signs of emotion again. In a hidden room overlooking the first test chamber in the 7th chapter, "The Reunion," a portrait can be found depicting CEO Cave Johnson with Caroline beside him.
She has long brown hair and wears a white dress. Little is known about Caroline's personality; she has only a few lines in Portal 2all of which are very short. She seems to have been a loyal and enthusiastic assistant to Johnson. While GLaDOS initially appears in the first game to simply be a voice that guides the player, her words and actions become increasingly malicious as she makes her intentions clear.
The second game, as well as the Valve-created comic Lab Ratreveals that she was mistreated by the scientists and used a neurotoxin to kill the scientists in the laboratory before the events of Portal. She is apparently destroyed at the end of the first game but returns in the sequel, in which she is comically supplanted and temporarily stuck on a potato battery.
The inspiration for the character's creation extends from Wolpaw's use of a text-to-speech program while writing lines for the video game Psychonauts. Other game developers working on Psychonauts found the lines funnier as a result of the synthesized voice.
GLaDOS was originally intended to be present solely in the first area of Portal ; she was well received by other designers and her role was expanded as a result. Play testers were motivated to complete tests in the game due to her guidance.
While the game was initially designed with other characters, they were later removed, leaving GLaDOS as the only character players encounter. The physical appearance of GLaDOS went through several designs, one of which featured a large disk below her.
McLain imitated dialog read aloud by a speech synthesizer with her own voice, which was then processed to sound more robotic, and performed songs in character during the closing credits of both entries in the series.
GLaDOS has been well received by critics and gamers, some of whom called her narcissistic, passive-aggressivesinister, and witty. She is considered one of the greatest video game characters, particularly among those created in the s. A number of publications listed her as one of the all-time greatest video game villains, including IGN and Game Informerboth of which ranked her first.
Her voice is robotic, but distinctly female. Over time, players learn that she is, in fact, leading the player-character Chell to her death. Her personality has been described as passive-aggressive, witty, narcissisticand sinister. She has several system personality cores installed into her, partly to prevent her from killing anyone. At the climax of the game, Chell enters GLaDOS' chambers, where it is revealed that she's actually a complex artificial intelligence system composed of robotic parts hanging from a larger device.
Once the player removes the first personality core, the morality core, GLaDOS' voice becomes less robotic and more sensual. Originally, GLaDOS was designed as an artificial intelligence and research assistant meant to aid Aperture Science in competing with the Black Mesa Research Facility on the creation of portal technology. GLaDOS is installed to serve as the Enrichment Center's central control computer, mounted in a large, sealed chamber alongside several control consoles and an incinerator, the latter being her eventual demise.
He was designed with the purpose of giving her bad ideas and inhibiting her personality. In PortalGLaDOS is Chell's only link with the situation she is placed in; at the game's start, she introduces Chell to the game's Enrichment Center and the physics of the portal gun. In later stages of the center, GLaDOS admits to having lied to Chell about her progress, as part of a supposed "test protocol". The AI claims that the regular test chamber is unavailable due to "mandatory scheduled maintenance".
In this encounter Chell dislodges the various personality cores each also voiced by McLain, with the exception of the final core, which is voiced in a guttural fashion by Mike Patton and incinerates them. During the battle, it is revealed that before the events of PortalGLaDOS released a neurotoxin into the Enrichment Center revealed to occur on Take Your Daughter to Work Day in the sequelwhich resulted in the surviving scientists installing a morality core to prevent further incidents.
This time, she makes no attempt to hide her contempt and hatred for Chell; partly because Chell destroyed her, and partly because a backup system has forced her to relive her death over and over since her deactivation. At this point, he immediately becomes power-mad and puts GLaDOS into a potato battery before she tells him that he was originally 'designed to be a moron'. He then turns on Chell and slams the elevator they are in, sending both into the bowels of the facility.
After placing a portal on the moon, Chell and Wheatley get sucked out into space still connected to the computer chassisand GLaDOS regains control of the facility, severing Wheatley's connection causing him to get sucked into deep space but saving Chell.
